Chicken Momos

Thanks to my lovely friend Puja for teaching me how to make these awesome momos! It always turns out delicious with this recipe!

Momos Ingredients:

Wonton wraps- 1 packet (round or square ones).
Ground meat- chicken, Turkey or pork- 2 lb.
Onion- 1 big (finely chopped)
Ginger/Garlic paste- 2 Tsp.
Cabbage- 3/4th cup (finely chopped)
Green onion- 1/2 cup( finely chopped)
Green chili-2 or to taste.
Cilantro-1/2 cup (finely chopped)
Salt-3/4th- 1 tsp. or to taste
Coriander powder- 1 1/2 tsp.
Jeera (Cumin) powder-1/2 tsp.
Momo masala (optional)- 1 tsp.
Hot oil with turmeric mixed in it- 2 tbsp. oil + 1/4 tsp. turmeric.

1. Place the raw ground meat in the mixing bowl. Add chopped onion, cabbage, cilantro, green onion and ginger/garlic paste.
2. Add in the spices- salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, momo masala (optional).
3. Heat 2 tbsp. of oil in a small pan and mix turmeric to it once the oil is hot and pour into the bowl.
4. Mix it well when the oil is safe to touch.
5. Fill the wonton wrap with a tsp. of the meat mixture and steam the momos for 15 minutes.

SAUCE Recipe:
Oil- 1 tbsp.
garlic- 1-2 cloves
Red chili- 1 or 2
onion- 1/2 cup (chopped)
Tomatoes- 3 (cubed)
Green onions- 1/2 cup
Salt-3/4th tsp. or to taste
turmeric- A pinch.
Momo masala- 1/2 tsp.
Cilantro-1/4 cup.
Sesame powder- 2 or 3 tbsp.

Method: Place oil in a pot and all the ingredients except cilantro and sesame powder. Let the pot come to boil for 10 minutes and grind the mixture when it is cool. Add the cilantro and sesame powder while grinding.
