Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole:


Fresh French cut Green Beans: 2-3 cups or 1 packet (Green Giant or any other brand)

Condensed cream of Mushroom soup 10 oz. Campbell’s works best.

milk 1/2 cup.

Heavy whipping cream (optional)-1/4th cup

For Sautéing:

Butter- 1-2 tbsp.

Onion-1 (medium-sized, finely diced)

Garlic-4-5 cloves.

cilantro 1/2 cup.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Garnishing and Baking:

French Fried onions:  1 cup to bake and another ½ cup to garnish.

Optional Ingredients:

Dried Basil and Italian seasoning 1/2 tsp.


1.       Take an oven proof dish and pour condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, cream and mix well. Add washed and rinsed beans to it.

2.       Sautéing: Take butter in a small skillet or pan, add garlic, onions and sauté for few minutes. Add cilantro and stir again. Turn off the heat and the add the sauteed mixture to the above prepared cream and bean bowl.

3.       Add salt and pepper to taste and add the seasoning ingredients at this time you are using ( dried basil and Italian seasoning).

4.       This is the right time for you to add extra milk and cream if desired (sometimes it varies with amount of  beans we are using in the recipe or if you prefer it creamier.)

5.       Garnish  with French fried onions and bake in the oven at 350 for 1 hour (make sure to cover it with aluminum foil while baking )

6.       After baking, garnish with more (1/2 cup) French fried onions and serve.
